Here’s what our London customers had to say about our services:
A big thank you to Dole chimney services for fixing my chimney with a new liner, my fire looks fantastic!
I had M.Dole chimney sweeps come and sweep my chimney a few weeks back, very satisfied, great care was taken while performing the sweep, very clean and tidy, no mess left behind! The team was very helpful with any questions or doubts I had or if my chimney was to fail what my options what be, such as getting my flue lined. Luckily enough my chimney passed (determined by the smoke test they also perform). I was also given a certificate to ensure my fire is safe to use for insurance purposes. very satisfied would recommend to all. 5*
Mike Dole did an amazing job for us, he opened up our blocked off fireplace, cleaned & swept the chimney, and then fitted a new Gas fire and lovely stone fireplace. He was recommended to us as someone who is reliable and honest and does a good job. I have to say he was even better than that, as they didn’t get a speck of dirt anywhere and they worked so hard and so fast I was really impressed. I strongly recommend Mike if you need your chimney swept or flue sorted or any fireplace work done.
very happy excellent service provided
Mike Dole and his team swept six chimneys in our Grade II Listed building in EC2 today. A very professional service, excellent job done, would highly recommend.
I have been have trouble for years and smoking the neighbours out but Mike came round to fix the problem with no fuss or mess. Very clean worker, polite and very reliable. Thank you very much
We had M.Dole Chimney Sweeps in today and I am happy to recommend them. The cost of sweeping, testing, assessing and certifying 3 chimneys was £180 (normally £70 per chimney, but discounted to £60 for more than one). M.Dole, the boss, has been in the trade since 1952 and appeared with a fully certificated technician together with an apprentice. The latter has been in position only 4 months and has another 8 months to go before his first accreditation and another 2 year before becoming fully qualified. I have to confess a hankering for such enterprises together with with lack of flannel. Mr Dole was careful and cautious and supervised throughout. Their agreed tasks were: 1. Sweep our 3 chimneys 2. Assess the condition of the flues 3. Test the up-draught 4. Test the design of the flues 5. Carbon monoxide test with smoke kit The team were on site for about 90 minutes. The sweeping process was relatively dust free and the team were careful to restrict this to a minimum. I was invited to view the tell tale site of the brush exiting from each chimney pot (traditionally considered to be a sort of feng shui sign of good fortune). The smoke test involved placing a non hazardous smoke bomb at the base of the chimney and examining how the smoke emitted from the pots. They were looking for smoke coming from more than one chimney: an indicator of breakdown of structural integrity. Fortunately all our chimneys passed the various tests and were issued separate certificates. Insurance companies look to distance themselves from claims when faced with fire damage if chimneys were involved using the “get out” concept of contributory negligence. M.Dole also undertake repair works, fit replacement flues (for failed chimneys) and install fireplaces.
A+++ Recommended.

Hackney Chimney Sweeps
How many home owners have the knowledge and tools to clean their chimney after a full winter season of extensive use? The majority of individuals will forget to make the necessary arrangements, or will schedule appointments at the wrong time of the year and forget to have the chimney re-inspected prior to firing it for the first time the next season. While it is a great idea to have Hackney chimney sweeps come in and clean the entire heating unit after the winter weather breaks and returns to a more normal and enjoyable temperature, this will not ensure the system is ready the following season. In order to ensure the fireplace will be ready for use when the wet and cold weather arrives, it will be necessary to have the chimney re-inspected prior to being fired up for heat.
Even though the Chimney Sweeps in Hackney were contacted after the last season and did a thorough and complete job of cleaning the equipment, there are still things that could occur to the unit while not in use that would prevent them from working properly. Small animals and birds have been known to build nests in the interior walls and flues of a chimney. These obstructions pose health and safety risks for the house and the people living within it. If they are not properly removed they can cause smoke to back up and begin flowing into the house. Not only does this pose a health problem it can also be fatal if not noticed and corrected in a timely manner.
The chimney lining of a Hackney home is a very vital part of the integrity associated with a heating system of this nature. If the lining has cracks or pieces missing these places will attract and coagulate harmful chemical compounds such as creosote which is a highly flammable and extremely explosive substance. It has a very dark, black in most cases, appearance that resembles tar. It is released by wood when the fire is going and collects in the nooks and crannies that can become evident within the flue and lining. If this material is allowed to remain intact and is not properly removed it will pose larger problems with each passing day.
Once a creosote deposit begins to build up within a chimney system it takes special tools to ensure proper removal. While some facilities sell the necessary equipment they do not provide the relevant instructions that are required to operate the tools correctly. The investment made for purchasing these tools will often be wasted when they are used improperly. For the absolute best results it is highly recommended that home owners contact the appropriate Hackney chimney sweeps to solve the problem. Proper removal and disposal procedures are best left to those that are qualified to handle these tasks. There is a good reason these companies exist and it is to ensure the residence is safe and secure and that the family residing within has less to worry about during the use of the fireplace.
